BruK explores relationships and how we sabotage them and ourselves; how the ego gets involved, fear takes over, and perfectly good people do horrible things to each other.
BruK is an original work created by Holly Dignard. Innovative in its approach, BruK is a contemporary ballet with dialogue. Although musically driven, there is no live singing distinguishing it from the traditional musical theatre format. The expressive and unique choreography effortlessly blends a myriad of styles within the one act piece. Dance styles include contemporary, hip-hop, salsa, swing, thrash jazz, lyrical jazz, tap, break-dancing, street jazz, African and dancehall.
Sponsors included the prestigious Scotiabank Dance Centre (home of Ballet BC) and A Star Studio.
BruK enjoyed a sold out run with offers to re-stage the show in the future.
