August 19, 2017. An anti-racism protest in response to the Unite the Right rally and Charlottesville attack in the USA that left one anti-racism protester dead after being deliberately struck by a vehicle. This event was motivated by local anti-immigration, anti-Muslim far right groups wanting to show their support for Unite the Right north of the border. 4000 peaceful Vancouverites came out to show that love is the only way forward. We outnumbered the far-right protesters some of whom were taken away by police and others left quietly.
